Mississippi State University is honored to lead a partnership of three universities – MSU, Augusta and Clark Atlanta (VICEROY Southeastern Cohort - VSEC) as part of a national level effort to improve our nation’s cyber workforce.

VICEROY Scholars Program is made possible through an award from the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate in partnership with Griffiss Institute and the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense

VICEROY Scholars Program is not a scholarship.  VICEROY is an incentive-based program.  Students accepted into the program are incentivized to participate in cyber education and experiential learning opportunities.

VICEROY Scholars Program pays accepted Scholars up to $5000.00 in incentives over 2 years, in addition to covering all costs for certification testing and experiential learning opportunities.  If you are willing to consider a career in National Security with the Department of Defense, MSU’s VICEROY program can provide the following:

  • $1000.00 Paid after acceptance to program and commitment agreement completed.
  • $1500.00 Paid after completing up to 3 approved cyber courses ($500.00 per course)
  • $1000.00 Paid after passing an approved cyber related certification exam.
  • $1000.00 Approximate expenses covered to attend experiential learning opportunity.
  • $500.00 Other benefits

VICEROY Scholars Program is open to sophomores and juniors who are U.S. Citizens and are interested in service to national security.

If accepted to be a VICEROY scholar, students will sign a commitment agreement stating they will actively participate in the program. However, recipients are NOT obligated to any government service commitment.
