CPT Robert H. Bennett

Robert Horace Bennett was born on April 10, 1946. From Starkville, MS, he earned his commission through the MSU Army ROTC program in 1968. In 1969, he began his Vietnam tour. There, he served as an Infantry Unit Commander and was assigned to 101st Airborne Division, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, C Company. He was killed in action on November 4, 1970 in South Vietnam, Thua Thien province.

He was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Parachutist Badge, national Defense Service medal, Vietnam Campaign medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Army Good Conduct Medal. He is honored on Panel 6W, Row 38 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
