It’s one of the most high-tech and modern forces in the Army. To be an officer in this branch, you need to constantly evolve and strive to stay ahead. Second lieutenants in the Air Defense Artillery defend civilians, soldiers and assets from enemy missiles and aircraft. As an officer, you will become an expert in the tactics, techniques and procedures for the employment of air defense systems. In addition, you may be assigned to a corps or theater missile defense unit in charge of safeguarding military assets and populated areas.
As part of your duties and training, you will also gain expertise in one or more of the following systems: the PATRIOT Missile System, the Bradley- Linebacker System, the Man Portable Air Defense System, and/or the AVENGER System.
