Special Forces

As a special forces officer, you will harness the talents of your Operational detachment- alpha or “ODA,” as you master the art and science of unconventional warfare. Those serving in Special Forces combine warrior and interpersonal skills to accomplish our nation’s objectives.

SF is a non- accession branch, meaning you must serve in another branch before transferring into this specialty. To become a member of this exciting and challenging branch, you will need to volunteer for Special Forces Assessment and Selection. Once selected, your rigorous training will involve language and cultural education, and a Special Forces Qualification Course. Upon graduating from this course, you will earn the right to wear the highly coveted green beret- a mark of excellence, a symbol of distinction and a badge of courage.
